Captain II Mark Feaster
On October 12th, 2011, the Fairfax Resolves Chapter visited Fire Station 30 in Merrifield, Virginia to award Captain Mark Feaster Chapter's 2011 Fire Safety Commendation. Captain Feaster is assigned to Fire Station 12, B-Shift, (Great Falls) and has been a proud member of the Fire and Rescue Department for over 25 years. During his tenure, he has been a model of commitment and inspiration within the Fire and Rescue Department.
Over the years, Mark has been actively engaged in the development of Fire and Rescue Department Manuals and procedures for life saving fire suppression operations in areas that are not served by a municipal water supply. He also has assisted residents in Great Falls to obtain State grant funding to for correcting dry hydrant installations, thereby protecting life and property. As another component of his engagement in limited water supply operations, Mark took the lead role in developing training information and procedures for Compressed Air/Foam System Engines.
Mark is actively engaged in the Swift Water Operations Program, particularly with equipment acquisition, training and tactics. He also has been instrumental as a liaison with the National Park Service at Great Falls National Park.
Besides all of these duties and projects, Mark is serving as the on-location Fire and Rescue representative for the new construction of Fire Station 12.
For his commitment to his work and the guidance that he provides to his colleagues, Captain II Mark Feaster was awarded the SAR Fire Safety Commendation Medal.
